If I am Under 21 do I have to take a Motorcylce driving test at California DMV?

If I already have my driver’s license do i still have to take a driving test on the motorcylce. The info on the dmv.org is kind of vague. It says below:

Getting Your Motorcycle License: Under 21
You may apply for your motorcycle license after:

You’ve held your motorcycle learner’s permit for at least six months, if you’re 16 or 17 years old.
You’ve passed a California Motorcyclist Safety Program training course (the Basic RiderCourse) administered by the California Highway Patrol, and been issued a completion certificate.
Bring the motorcycle class completion certificate to the California DMV, and they’ll issue you an interim license valid for 60 days, until you receive your new photo license in the mail.

You will need to take a ridding test at the DMV if you decided not to take the “California Motorcyclist Safety program”. If you attend the course, you do not have to take the riding test with the DMV.

yes you will have to do a driving test at DMV in order to get a motorcycle license

to get a permit you have to take a written test at DMV if it has been longer the 12 months since you last renewed your drivers license you will also have to take the written test for general driving as well

if you are under the age of 18 it is mandatory that you take and successfully pass the MSF course or Riders Edge course or the CHP riders course

18 and over you must have a permit for 6 months before you can take the driving test at the DMV to get a motocycle license
